Intergalactic Shmuppreciation Month 2010

Now here’s something worth announcing!

March is the Intergalactic Shmuppreciation Month. This is a period in the year where we - as fans of shmups - should help each other find new shmups to play. And more importantly, we must help spread the love of shmups all around the gaming community by recommending specific shmups to other gamers.

Details on the origins of Intergalactic Shmuppreciation Month can be checked in the Shmupmonth website. In order to celebrate and indulge yourself in this fantastic genre you can enter a contest which this year is giving away a customized arcade stick that will be compatible with both the PS3 and Xbox 360. Just follow the link and proceed with some very simple steps to do it.

As a humble genre enthusiast, I have enlisted myself and am currently working on my shmup assignment for the contest. And I believe it would be great for you to take part in this universal shoot’em up gathering as well. It doesn’t matter if you’re a hardcore or a casual player. It doesn’t matter if you never played a shmup in your life. It doesn’t even matter if you don’t have plenty of time to play or if your gameplay isn't that refined because, in the end, the winner will be decided via random drawing.

I know I should’ve posted this earlier, but there’s still time for everybody to join.

Good luck!
